With over 25 years in the carbon markets, Divaldo is considered a pioneer in the field. He developed Brazil’s first carbon sequestration project in the Bananal Island, with the differential of ensuring community involvement in the initiative. We co-created the SOCIALCARBON Standard alongside Stefano Merlin.

Diane supports in the strategy of the SOCIALCARBON Standard. Her extensive knowledge of Ocean ecosystems and wastewater treatment ensures that we look beyond traditional carbon methodologies and develop novel solutions that address the greatest threats to our freshwater supplies and oceans.

Paulo Gomes is a global business leader, active environmentalist and a key political actor in Guinea Bissau. He has an acute knowledge of the politics and policies of Africa that he developed through his political engagement, support to several governments and as an Executive Director of the World Bank.

Dr. Amadeu M V M Soares has his PhD in Zoology from the University of Sheffield (1989) with habilitation for full professorship from the University of Coimbra, Portugal (1997). His main work areas are ecotoxicology and functional biodiversity. A Professor at the University of Aveiro, he has been the Head of the Department of Biology since 2001, and also leads the Research Group on Ecotoxicology and Functional Biodiversity.

Dr. Daniel Nepstad is a tropical ecologist whose research has focused on the response of Amazon forests to climate change, fire, and land use. In 1998, he developed the Amazon Scenarios program, which simulates the future of the Amazon under a range of policy scenarios. He is currently the Executive Director of the Earth Innovation Institute.

Narubia is an indigenous and environmental activist from Brazil and currently president of the Tocantins Indigenous Institute. She ensures we understand the challenges and opportunities for local communities and indigenous people.

Dr. Adzogenu is an accomplished investment facilitation, government affairs and international crisis management specialist for global investors and businesses across Africa, Europe and Asia. His global experience ranges from advising African Heads of State, Fortune 100 companies, G7 countries and African regional institutions, to helping resolve disputes over multi-billion-dollar concessions in war-threatened regions. He is the co-chair of the Afro Champions Initiative.

Beto serves as Director of the Communities and Territorial Governance Initiative at Forest Trends. He has over 30 years of experience working with indigenous and other local communities in the Amazon and elsewhere in Latin America to benefit from technical support and climate and conservation finance in recognition of their rights and forest stewardship.

A co-founder of Climate-KIC, Daniel is the Director of Sustainable Land Use. He has extensive knowledge of scaling up climate organisations, holistic nature restoration and start-up acceleration in the area of Sustainable Land Use.

Nikol is a distinguished strategist and a leading voice in the field of insetting, with extensive field experience in developing responsible smallholder agrifood value chains. She is deeply committed to fostering regenerative relationships between farming communities, businesses, consumers, and the natural environment, championing insetting as an innovative and sustainable financing mechanism.

Peter focuses on representing climate tech startups, CDR suppliers, and VCM marketplaces and platforms.

He provides legal and strategic advice on carbon credit and environmental benefit transactions related to nature-based and tech-based projects, both in the U.S. and internationally.

Previously, Peter was a corporate and M&A partner at Dentons based in Berlin and New York and led the firm’s German energy practice..

Currently the global investments lead for a Nature-based Carbon Fund for the world’s largest nature asset management, Tripurari spearheads investments into natural capital markets.

Earlier as Director of Carbon Solutions at HSBC, he led the origination and management of a high-quality and diverse pipeline of carbon credits on the voluntary market.

Tripurari is also a member of the VCS Program Advisory Group at Verra.
